Who is Eme Ashe?

Chances are, if you are reading this blog you know who I am or who I was at some point. These days I am just a girl in denial of my age gearing up for a new life adventure. Nine years ago moving across the country was no big deal. In fact, it was such a “no biggie” that I did it five times in two years. These days I am a little more stable and possess a lot more stuff. Gone are the days of throwing everything into my car and bidding life adieu. Now, a cross-country move must be more calculated and planned, such as this one.

I’ve listed out some fun facts about me below for those of you who want to know. I did have to swallow my pride a bit to list out my favorite shows; but this new life will be an authentic one so I might as well just admit up front that I love the Bachelor and the Bachelorette. There I said it.

I Love: my iPhone, Google, football, the Steelers, Steelers fans, driving, road trips, visiting good people, avoiding bad people, wine, memoirs, reading, people who read, other people’s babies, not having my own babies, candles, painted walls, human behavior, originality, purses and jewelry and coats, (oh my!), music, the rain, weather, weather forecasts, weather blogs, weather radar, weathermen, our military, our law enforcement, feeling safe, coffee, coffee, coffee, and quiet.

I Love Movies:
Garden State, Stepmom, My Cousin Vinny, Summer Rental, 500 Days of Summer, Up in the Air, We Are Marshall.

I Love Shows:
*Gulp* (That was my pride being swallowed in case you didn’t catch that) - Gilmore Girls, Brothers & Sisters, Felicity, Party of 5, How I Met Your Mother, The Bachelor and Bachelorette, The Office, Biggest Loser, 48 Hours Mystery, Dateline, 90210 (the original series of course,) Roseanne, Green Acres, Thundercats, and finally, Wings (the cheesy sitcom, not the boring show about planes that my Dad loves).

I Love Road Trip Music:
Playlists for this drive are TBD however will surely include excerpts from the following: Snow Patrol, Sugarland, the Dimes, Jem, Adele, the Wreckers, Anna Nalick, Lifehouse, Travis Tritt, Gomez, Death Cab for Cutie, Jennifer Knapp, Counting Crows, Pearl Jam, Dixie Chicks, and most likely the entire Garden State Soundtrack.

From Erin: Wow! Good luck with this exciting adventure! I feel like we need to meet for coffee before you go. I've been thinking off and on about moving back east for two years now. And, I actually did it for two months four years ago. Packed up all my crap and headed to the Burgh, then Dc. Then came back to Seattle. I'm at 7 years now and I'm definitely feeling like the time to move is coming. What I'm saying is: I relate to everything you said!

Funny, I moved back east seven years ago for five months. I thought I was the only one! Seattle has some kind of magnetic pull to it that makes leaving a task few can accomplish. I've heard if you make a blog it helps ensure success.

I met a woman once who moved back and forth from Pittsburgh to Seattle twice over the course of her life. (She was in her fifties.) She didn't pay any attention to hockey, but she sure as hell was at a bar to watch Game 7 against Detroit last year. (Where I met her.) Too funny.

Anyway, I consider the East coast home. I tell people I'm from Pittsburgh, but I live in Seattle. I have learned many cool things here... in a lot of ways I feel like I became an adult here, but I miss East coast people and the East coast vibe. The big question for me right now is... do I move back to the 'Burgh? I could live in Shadyside! Learn about the city from a city perspective, instead of the suburbs I grew up in. Or do I move elsewhere... Chicago? NYC? Both are cities I LOVE. Hmmm... Big decisions. I like your NC decision from a weather standpoint. If I move to a cold city I'm going to have to break down and buy some Uggs. And I've been able to avoid them up until now!

BTW, I have a blog! I've been blogging for 5 years about all kinds of crazy stuff. I originally started out blogging about having Crohn's Disease, but good old Seattle and it's alternative methods of healing straightened me out. So now I blog about whatever. :)
